Abstract

The Hybrid Steffensen Method is one of the numerical methods used to approximate the roots of nonlinear equations. The objective of this study is to construct the formula of the Hybrid Steffensen Method, formulate its algorithm, and analyze its order of convergence. Furthermore, this research compares the performance of the Hybrid Steffensen Method with the standard Steffensen Method on several test functions. The method employed in this study is a literature review, which involves collecting theories from various books and relevant sources. The results of this study provide a formula for the Hybrid Steffensen Method along with its algorithm, and it is proven to have quadratic order of convergence. In addition, this method demonstrates better performance for functions with certain characteristics compared to the standard Steffensen Method
